Before you order, you may have a few questions — totally understandable. I’ve answered the most common ones below so you can feel confident before choosing your handmade CraftyBabs piece.
Ordering + Personalisation
How do I order a personalised name sign?
Choose the correct number of letters, select your colour where available, then write the name exactly as you would like it made in the personalisation box. Please double-check spelling before ordering, as your item will be made using the wording you provide.
Can I choose the colour?
Yes. Colour options are shown on each product listing. Some products have colours in a dropdown, and others ask you to write your colour choice in the personalisation box. If you are choosing a custom colour combination, please write the colours clearly when ordering.
Do you only make names?
No. I also make words, short phrases, reading corner decor, decorative shapes, teacher gifts and themed nursery or children’s room pieces. If you have an idea that is not listed, you are welcome to contact me before ordering.
What if I spell something wrong when ordering?
Please check all spelling carefully before placing your order. If you notice a mistake quickly, contact me as soon as possible. If I have not started making your item yet, I’ll do my best to update it. Once the item has been started, changes may not be possible.
Size + Styling
What size are the letters?
As a general guide:
- Capital letters are approx. 11–12 cm high.
- Lowercase letters are approx. 6–6.5 cm high.
Are your signs made from a template?
Yes. I use templates as a guide to help keep the style neat, balanced and consistent. Each piece is still handmade and shaped by hand, so small differences in curves, spacing and finish are normal.
Can I add shapes to a name sign?
Yes. Decorative shapes such as bows, hearts, butterflies, clouds, rockets and other designs can be ordered separately to match your name sign or room theme.
Materials + Quality
What are the signs made from?
Most pieces are made using aluminium wire and 100% cotton yarn in an i-cord / knitted wire style. Some listings may use velvet or chenille yarn instead. Please check the individual product listing for the exact material.
Are the letters glued?
No. I do not glue the lettering together. Where extra support is needed, some letters, joins or details are invisibly sewn together to give the piece more stability while keeping the finish neat.
Are these toys?
No. CraftyBabs items are decorative only and are not toys. Please keep them out of reach of babies and young children, and handle with care.
How do I hang my sign?
Most wall decor items include simple hanging supplies such as pins and/or string, depending on the product. You can hang them using small pins, a small nail, a picture hook or another suitable wall fixing. Please avoid sticky tape, Blu Tack or anything that may damage the yarn.
Making time + Delivery
Are items ready-made?
Most CraftyBabs items are handmade to order, which means they are made especially for you after you place your order.
How long is the making time?
Please check the current making time shown on the website announcement bar or Delivery & Making time page before ordering. Making time can change during busy periods, so I keep this information updated in one central place.
Does making time include delivery time?
No. Making time is the time I need to make your order. Delivery time is separate and starts once your order has been dispatched.
Where do you ship?
CraftyBabs currently focuses on UK orders. If you are outside the UK and would like to order, please contact me first.
Returns + Policies
Do you accept returns?
Because many CraftBabs pieces are personalised or made to order, I cannot usually accept returns or exchanges for change of mind. This does not affect your statutory rights if there is a problem with your order.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are not usually offered for personalised or custom-made pieces unless the item arrives faulty, damaged, or there has been an error with your order. Please check spelling, colour choices and wording carefully before ordering.
What if my item arrives damaged?
Please contact me as soon as possible with clear photos of the packaging and piece, so I can look into it and help.
